The Kincardine Canadian Tire Atom Girls rep. team took to the ice at home Sunday to face the larger centre of Owen Sound.

The visitors put the first score on the board at 3:57 into the first period. One minute and 17 seconds later, Slayde Millar moved the puck up the boards to Alyssa Andrews who carried it up the ice, into the opposing zone and set up Laura Fohkens in front of the net.

The score remained tied at one until late in the third when Alyssa Andrews scored, assisted by Kaleigh Heydon, to take the 2-1 win.

Another solid performance in net by Rose Pande.

Jessica Gouthro, Katie Voskamp and Abby Swann also did a great job of holding the blue line for Kincardine while Libby Fletcher, Chloé Pagé, Abbey McCormick and Georgia Tanner made life difficult for the Owen Sound netminder who faced 27 shots.

The team will get some much-needed rest this week as the girls prepare for three games on the road next weekend.
