Five members of Kincardine's senior staff made this year's Sunshine List of public sector employees who made more than $100,000 in the past calendar year.

Under the Public Salary Disclosure Act, any organization that receives public funding from the province must annually disclose the positions, names, salaries and taxable benefits of employees who are paid more than $100,000 within the calendar year. The list does not include any privately-owned facilities such as Bruce Power.

In Kincardine, the following made the list:

  • Chief building official Michele Barr, $103,519.08; taxable benefits of $1,124.66
  • Chief administrative officer Murray Clarke, $149,103.55; taxable benefits of $1,214.32
  • Recreation director Karen Kieffer, $103,409.86; taxable benefits of $1,094.62
  • Clerk Donna MacDougall, $106,291.24; taxable benefits of $1,094.62
  • Former public works director Gagan Sandhu, $107,59.84; taxable benefits of $3,773.47

At the Bruce County offices, 15 employees made the list, including chief administrative officer Kelly Coulter at $149,000; while each MPP representing the region, Bill Walker (Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound) and Lisa Thompson (Huron-Bruce), made $116,550.

In Saugeen Shores, 11 employees made the list, including chief administrative officer Larry Allison who made $146,000, and seven members of the town's police department, including chief Dan Rivett who made approximately $141,000.
