The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks remain undefeated as they downed the Durham Thundercats by a 6-2 margin Friday night in Durham. The league-leading Hawks opened the scoring midway through the first as Blake Underwood notched his fifth of the season assisted by Curtis Johnston who remains in the top 10 in league scoring. Johnston notched his 12th of the season on a power play late in the second to put the Winterhawks up by a pair. Durham's Shawn Hill narrowed the margin with another power play marker less than two minutes later but the Hawks regained the two goal cushion when Shawn Walker collected his sixth of the season. Greg Virgo scored a pair of power play goals (his seventh and eighth of the season) in the second to put the Hawks up by a 5-1 score. Chris Hopkins would score another power play goal for the T-Cats to make it 5-2 but Ryan Abrams responded with his second of the season to round out the scoring. Andrew Smith got his seventh win of the season between the pipes against former Winterhawk goalie Troy Loucks for Durham.
