The Salvation Army Toy Drive enjoyed an early Christmas gift thanks to Sutton Huron Shores Realty in Southampton. The annual toy drive has become vital in making Christmas morning a joy to many children throughout Bruce and Grey Counties who, might otherwise, not have a visit from 'Santa'. This year, Sutton Huron Shores Realty Inc. Brokerage out of Southampton, decided to pitch in by matching every toy and Christmas gift and then donating everything to the Salvation Army's Christmas drive. The toy bin was located at Legault's Independent Grocer in Port Elgin and, on December 8th, the donated gifts were picked up and taken to the Salvation Army at Maple Square Mall in Port Elgin ... the collection depot. In addition to the many toys, there were also baby sleeper pajamas, winter toques, mittens and a wide variety of items for every age group. "This is the first year that we have done this and it is truly rewarding to know that we can help," said Brian Shular, "and we want to make it an annual tradition."
