The snow had mostly disappeared and it was rainy, windy and unseasonably warm for the Kincardine Santa Claus Parade Saturday night.

Hundreds of people lined the parade route which started at the Zehrs Mall parking lot and ran along Sutton Street, to Broadway, and then down Queen Street, ending at Victoria Park.

There were plenty of floats, featuring local students, Sparks and Brownies, churches, businesses, service clubs and organizations. Also in the parade, were horses, miniature horses and carts, the Kincardine Community Concert Band, and much more.

The Tiverton Park Manor float had the best depiction of the parade theme, "Kincardine's Christmas Carol," with all the characters from Charles' Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," especially Don Manary as "Scrooge," shouting "Humbug!"

Instead of riding on top of the fire truck, Santa had his own float with his reindeer, behind the fire trucks.

He pulled up beside the Kincardine Arts Centre and was able to stay warm and dry as he greeted a huge crowd of children in the Scougall Gallery.

The annual event is sponsored by the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce which provided treats and refreshments for the children after the parade.
