The Kincardine Novice House League kicked off Santa Claus Parade Saturday with a spirited match between Red and Green at the Davidson Centre.

With both goalies playing the role of the Stingy Scrooge, the back-and-forth affair came down to the dying seconds with Green holding on to secure a 5-4 victory.

Owen Thorn was on fire, scoring all four Red goals, with an assist going to Ryan Tanner. The Green Machine's Mack Beisel had three of his own, adding an assist on Carson Boettinger's goal. Cam Fletcher scored the game-winner for Green on a nice rush down the wing.

Both Green goalie Bailey Pierson, and Red goalie Brock Courtney, made many excellent saves to keep the game close.

Green had some strong defensive play from Bryan Nicholson and Noah McArthur and Elizabeth Casciano had strong efforts for Red.

Red capped its weekend with an impressive 5-3 victory in Port Elgin.

Thorn opened the scoring just seconds after stepping out of the penalty box, added another early in the second period, and one late in the third. He also was instrumental in the two other goals as Courtney and Macara Brooks each found rebounds in the slot on Thorn shots and managed to bang them home.

Ryan Tanner took a shut-out into the third for Red, making several show-stopping saves, including a puck off the mask and a great glove save to keep Port Elgin shooters at bay.

Lauren Lee and Elizabeth Casciano were sound defensively and Kane Lee played a great two-way game.
