The students at Elgin Market Public School, Kincardine, collected a "pit of plenty," which they have donated to the Kincardine Christmas Hamper Program.

The goal was for classes to bring in enough non-perishable food to fill the top step in the pit area, just off the lobby at the school.

The top step in the pit is covered in non-perishable food items, collected through the "pit of plenty" campaign

And the students did it. By Thursday afternoon, that step was covered with cans, boxes and packages of food, as well as diapers, jars of peanut butter, pudding cups, and so much more.

It all goes to fill Christmas hampers to help people in need this holiday season.
