Christmas came early to two local Saugeen Shores organizations thanks to Ontario Power Generation (OPG). Lynda Cain on behalf of OPG presented $1,000 to Erin Zorzi for the upcoming Winterama celebrations to be held February 18th. "This is very important to us," said Zorzi of the Rotary Winterama project. "Winterama is all about the kids ... getting them involved and learning to help others. They raise money for others through pledges and all the monies raised go back to kids and the community has always been very involved in Winterama. It's a fun day filled with outdoor activites."
Jennifer Tuer accepts donation for Lynda Cain of OPG The second donation of $1,000 went to the Saugeen Shores youth soccer program. "This really means a lot to us," said Jennifer Tuer. "We try to keep our fees as low as possible to make it more accessible for families. This money will mean new equipment, such as soccer balls, and new uniforms. This $1,000 will pay for six junior teams of seven and eight year olds." "OPG is pleased to be able to help local groups," said Cain. "We generally allot approximately $100,000 for local organizations and projects each year and we are now approaching the end of the year but managed to find a little extra to help groups that otherwise would not have funding."
