"Your generous donations now total $57,000 towards our $100,000 goal to Light the Way for the Lab and top priority needs for the Southampton hospital. Thank you," says Christine Kelly of Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Do you know precisely how active your Southampton Hospital lab was this past year?

Laboratory staff handled an incredible 661,750 procedures.

According to Kelly, the hospital is on the way to being able to look after community needs better than ever. A first, small step will renovate the small but vital lab facilities so they will give everyone even better service soon. The lab renovation will enable staff to work more efficiently, provide a more confidential arena and the necessary space to complete their work until the permanent expansion project is completed.

"Your gifts will help “light up” our outdoor hospital Christmas tree up to the top to celebrate $100,000 in donations received," adds Kelly.  "Special thanks to our Christmas tree sponsors: Beagle Run Nursery and Orchard, Martin's Home Hardware and Port Elgin Home Hardware."

This Christmas, the hospital will honour donors or  loved ones with a candle tribute card. You may write what you wish on the card… Miss you Mom…Wish you were still here Dad…In memory of …In honour of…Merry Christmas from… or donors may even personalize it with a photo. Simply return the tribute card to the hospital and they will display your card in the hospital.

"We would also be pleased to send a card acknowledging your Christmas gift in someone’s honour if you provide us with the details", Kelly adds. "Thank you for lighting the way for excellence in health care for our community."
