'Twas the weekend before Christmas, when all through the Wolf Den,
The dressing room was a’happening, it was game time again!

The sticks were all catered to, all taped up with care,
In hopes that a few points would soon be found there.

The players were all lined up in a row on the bench,
As visions of winning streaks danced in their heads.
Brent with his clipboard and Mark with the stats,
They were looking for a win and Shallow Lake was on tap.

After 60 minutes went by, well what can I say?
10-2 was the final, so in fifth place we stay.
The Ripley Wolves played well…… or so according to Rick,
he used to be the GM, but last year he quit.

10 goals were on the score sheet and the fans wanted some more
Derek Regier was quite happy 'cause he counted for four
Others from Mark Stanley, Van Gaver and Nick
While Heffernan, Darren Gavey and Lowry make six.

The Crushers' bus driver left to warm up their sled,
As the losing team all boarded looking forward to bed.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, we’ve had better nights!"

So from VanGaver and Edwards and all four Stanleys,
from the other sets of brothers, you know we have three.
From Spencer and Pollock and the coach’s son, Shea,
From all of the Kyles…..there’s three, and Corey McCrae.

From Gail Colling of course, and the girls at the front gate,
Don’t forget Wally, watching the bar is his fate.
From the rest of the executive, way too many to name,
They do a great job, but it’s for the love of the game.

Don’t forget about Lowry, Mike Pollock and Ross,
Our President, Kevin Taylor, and our trainer named Josh.
Dave Quinn left the rink smiling, 'cause our boys got the win.
Me….Well I’m happy, but my Flames lost again.

Merry Christmas everyone from the Ripley Wolves!
Next Wolves home game is Dec. 30, at 8:30 p.m.
