Ontario Power Generation (OPG) handed out another early Christmas present on Wednesday, December 21. Lynda Cain, on behalf of OPG gave the Saugeen Shores Rail Trail 'All Aboard' project $1,200 to go toward Phase 2 of the new historical pavilion in Port Elgin.
'Station' nears completion The pavilion located at the River Street intersect of the Rail Trail in Port Elgin is located at was once the last railway stop in the region and has been constructed at the historic site to include accessible washrooms and a 'moms & tot' change room in addition to a picnic shelter area.
Sam Thaw & Tyler Muzyczuk end the day with clean-up The build has been a community effort with construction work done by Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) technical students under the leadership of teacher Bud Halpin and with the donations of many organizations and retailers throughout the community.
