More than 140 people were treated to an early Christmas dinner at the Living Hope Christian Centre in Port Elgin on Christmas Eve.

The full-course dinner donated and prepared by the Queen's Hotel in Port Elgin served turkey and all the trimmings to those who might not otherwise have enjoyed a Christmas meal.

The Queen's owner, Pier Donnini and his family were helped out by local Port Elgin Rotarians who served at the buffet that included turkey, stuffing, vegetables and potatoes.

Donnini prepared enough food to ensure that most of those who attended were also able to take a full meal home.

"It's been a wonderful experience," said Donnini, "and we're hoping to make it an annual event."
