A double winner!

Kelly MacDonald beat the odds when she won twice in the recent Christmas Home Tour draw in Saugeen Shores.

The annual home tour held in November was a fundraiser for the Saugeen Shores Chambettes' community projects and the Marine Heritage Society.  This year, there were seven homes on the tour where visitors could enter for the opportunity to win one of two packages that included interior design consulting, carpeting, paint and decor items.

With the draws held in two separate homes on the tour and drawn by different people, what were the odds that one person would win both?  Well, Kelly MacDonald beat the odds and was the big winner!

She knew that she had won one of the packages but, much to her surprise, she learned that she had also won the second package.

Despite a severe case of laryngitis, she croaked at learning of her good fortune, "I can't believe this!"

Her winnings included: a carpet from Complete Flooring ($80); Behr paint from Port Elgin Home Hardware ($80); plant from Shoreline Stone ($60); design consultation from CR Designs ($250); CD holder from Little's Furniture ($300).

The annual Christmas Home Tour was also a success with 600 tickets sold at more than $7,600.  "We were thrilled at the response," said Chair June Fotherby, "and we already have five homes in place for next year.  If anyone else is interested in having their home on the tour, the can call me at 529-797-3618 or Jackie Smith at 519-389-4896."
