In Ontario, some hospital CEOs are paid
anywhere from $600,000 to $700,000 and,
in northeast Ontario, salaries range
from $250,000 to $350,000 annually, not
including various 'perks'. The NDP
however, are recommending that pay
scales have a cap set at $418,000 per
year.
While the salaries
of hospital
executives who earn
more than $100,000
annually have been
disclosed since 1996
on the Ontario's
so-called "sunshine
list," it wasn't
until now that full
contract details
have been made
readily available to
the public.
In Grey Bruce Health Services,
President & CEO Maureen Solecki receives
an annual salary of $253,000 plus in
addition to a monthly car allowance and
a two-year severance package allowance.
In the region under Solecki's
jurisdiction, she oversees six hospitals
with an annual budget of $160 million.
