Sean Burton of the Goderich Pirates Senior AA hockey club is within two points of marking 1,000 career points.

The Kincardine resident notched an assist Saturday night against the Tillsonburg Thunder, giving him a total of 998 points.

The Pirates take on the Thedford Dirty Dogs in Goderich Friday, Jan 13, which could be a lucky day for Burton if he can rack up two points to reach this career milestone. The game begins at 8:30 p.m. at the Goderich arena.

In November, Burton added career assist No. 500 in a loss to the Tillsonburg Thunder. At that time, he had a total of 993 points.
