The holidays are over and as everyone slowly gets back to the grind, I thought I would let you know what has been going on with the Ripley Wolves.

I wish I could say that Santa was good to us, but those four points we had asked for, didn’t show up under the Wolves' Christmas tree.

Dec. 27, the Wolves headed to Shelburne to take on the Muskies, with some valuable points on the line. The Muskies were tied with the Wolves for fourth place, although the fish did have a game in hand.

Unfortunately, after 60 minutes of play, the shorthanded Wolves found themselves on the wrong end of a 7-2 score.

Finding the back of the net for the Wolves were Corey McCrae and Alex MacLeod.

Dec. 30, it was Ripley’s turn to play host to that very same Shelburne team, and a little revenge was definitely on the minds of the Wolves.

In a penalty-filled game (I lost count somewhere around 80 minutes), the Wolves once again found themselves on the losing end of a 5-0 score.

So, now that the dust has settled, the Wolves are in fifth place, only now they are trailing Shelburne by four points.

A couple of wins this weekend would go a long way to help Ripley get a little closer to securing home ice for the first round of playoffs.

The Wolves welcome the Elora Rocks to town Friday night, Jan. 6, for an 8:30 p.m. puck drop. Then it’s off to Dundalk for a rare Sunday afternoon (Jan. 8) matinee game against the Shelburne Muskies - game time is
4 p.m.

Come out Friday night for some great Senior A hockey!
