To whom it may concern. In response to hearing of the unrenewed contract of Peter Roedger as Port Elgin Harbour Master, I question the ability of the persons responsible for that decision. Peter Roedger has been doing a great job for 7 years and all of a sudden you are not satisfied with the job he is doing? Give your head a shake.! Someone has had a total lapse of common sense. I have been at the harbour for Peter's full time there and have never heard of one complaint about the way he took care of business. Apparently the town has also been happy with his work for 7 years. What now? Hire someone else and hope it all works out? You have an excellent Harbour Master in Peter Roedger and he doesn’t need any training for the job. Unless you have already hired someone's cousin for the job, get with the program and renew his contract!
