Winterhawks make a comeback against Muskies

The Winterhawks defeated the Shelburne Muskies 6-5 in overtime on Saturday night in Shelburne exacting a measure of revenge against the Muskies who defeated the Hawks at home last weekend.

Blake Underwood scored the overtime game winner to bring home the victory.

Ryan Fry opened the scoring less than a minute into the first with assists going to Underwood and Greg Virgo.

 

Brent MacDermid put the Hawks up by a pair a couple of minutes later with assists going to Underwood and Matt Turcotte.

Shelburne came back with three in a row to take the lead 3-2 but MacDermid scored his second of the night at the 15 minute mark of the first to tie it up. Assists to Darryl McKinnon and Greg Thede.

 

Nick Quaid gave the Hawks the lead in the second with assists to McKinnon and Turcotte. Shelburne tied it at four but Nick Quaid scored a shorthanded goal to put the Hawks back in front.

 

Shelburne scored a power play marker to deadlock it again setting the stage for Underwoods heroics.
