Southampton Pet Hospital welcomes new doctor |

Dr. Donna Curtin has recently joined the Southampton Pet Hospital in Saugeen Shores.
Dr. Donna Curtin and an affectionate calico looking for a new home A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. Curtin has over 10 years experience in Grey-Bruce, where she was also raised. "I have a keen interest in preventative medicine, nutrition, pain management and pet oral health care," says Curtin. She has completed training in periodontal surgery, ultrasound and veterinary communication and is the current chair for the 18th Annual Grey Bruce Veterinary Association Conference. In addition, she is a new member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association's Board of Directors and is also an active volunteer. Curtin, who has worked in Markdale, Ripley and Walkerton-Hanover, is looking forward to her posting at the Southampton Pet Hospital. "I felt it was a wonderful opportunity," she says. "The hospital, with the latest in diagnostic equipment, is another level for learning and the staff here is terrific." In addition to working as a veterinarian, Curtin also enjoys writing veterinary related articles and is currently working on a novel a series of short stories related to her experiences as a doctor of veterinary medicine. Dr. Curtin enjoys country living with her husband and two children, four and six. "We are looking forward to spending more time at Southampton's beaches in the summer."
