The annual Saugeen Shores Chambettes' Christmas Home Tour 2011 was so popular that the group was able to give a donation to the Marine Heritage Society.

The tour featured seven homes throughout the area that were each uniquely decorated by interior designers and opened to the public through ticket sales.

"This year's tour," said Chair June Fotherby, "was one of the most successful yet raising approximately $7,000."

The monies raised were divided between the Chambettes and the Marine Heritage Society with $3,384.01 going toward the Tour Boat the Peerless. The boat is operated by the Marine Heritage Society  throughout the summer months taking tours to the restored Chantry Island Lighthouse.

The balance goes to the Chambettes for a variety of community projects, as yet to be decided.
