With 18 kilometres of ski trails, the Sauble Beach Cross County Ski Club (just past Sauble Falls) boasts some of the most picturesque trails in Ontario. MPP Bill Walker was at the club on Saturday, January 21st with an after-Christmas gift of $13,200 from the Trillium Foundation. "We are pleased to see so many volunteers who help to keep this one of the most popular cross-country ski areas in the province." President Gordon Lister points out the recently renovated chalet where skiiers and visitors can enjoy a hot applie cider or snack in front of a warm fire. "We are also in the middle of renovating the kitchen," he adds, "and had custom benches built so that we don't have tables taking up room."

"We not only have skiiers," he says, "but also many snowshoers. The sport of snowshoeing has grown dramatically and the new gazebo will give participants in both sports a spot to rest." |
