CAW wind turbine goes ahead

Work continues on the contentious wind turbine at the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Family Education Centre in Port Elgin.

The construction continues despite several protests and appeals to municipal government to stop the project.

The wind turbine is the first to be built within the local urban settlement area and that does not have to follow the existing set-back regulation of 550 meters as the CAW received government approval prior to the set-back being legislated. .
