The Ripley Wolves lost two close games on the weekend.

Friday night on home ice, the Wolves lost a close 4-3 match to the Elora Rocks.

Ripley opened the scoring in the first period on a goal by Travis VanGaver from Mark Stanley and Derek Regier.

Elora tied it up midway in the second, but Ripley punched in two quick shots, before Elora tied it again at 3-3.

Ripley goals were by Nick Locking from Nathan Gavey and Kyle Heffernan; and by Chad Colling from Regier and Gavey.

Both teams fought hard, but Elora had the game-winner in the final period, taking the 4-3 win.

Sunday, in Shelburne, Ripley lost another close one, 3-1.

The Wolves are on the road this weekend, facing the Shallow Lake Crushers Friday night; and the Lucknow Lancers Saturday night.

Their next home game is Saturday, Jan. 21, against the Durham Thundercats. Game time is 8:30 p.m.
