South Bruce OPP report theft, and liquor charges |

THEFT OF FIREWOOD (WALKERTON, ON) – Jan. 15, at 9:48 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a firewood theft from a residence along South Street in Walkerton. Between Jan. 8 and Jan. 14, two face cords of wood had been taken. The value of the stolen wood is estimated at more than $200. LIQUOR TICKET ISSUED AT RIDE CHECK (WALKERTON, ON) – Jan. 14, at 2:09 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check on Durham Street East in Walkerton. A grey Chevrolet Silverado pick-up stopped at the checkpoint and officers found liquor in the front passenger seat. The 17-year-old driver was charged with Person under 19 years having liquor. Motorists are reminded that to legally transport alcohol, it must be in a sealed container, must not be accessible to the driver and you must be at least 19 years of age or older. IMPAIRED DRIVER CAUGHT AT RIDE CHECK (CARRICK TWP, ON) – Jan. 12, at 8:22 p.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check at the intersection of Bruce County Road 6 and Bruce County Road 28, Carrick Township. A white GMC pick-up stopped at the checkpoint and officers noted that the driver had been drinking alcohol. 46-year-old James SPIELMACHER of Mildmay has been charged with Operate over 80 milligrams and Drive with open liquor. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court Feb. 27 to answer to the charges.
