I must say I am feeling pretty fortunate these days and there are lots of reasons for that, perhaps too many to mention. I’m fortunate because of family (especially the grandkids) and friends. I’m fortunate because of the great community I live in that continues to grow and offer more and better amenities to residents and visitors alike. I feel really fortunate that we have a vibrant volunteer base that goes the distance in achieving many goals that are a huge benefit to the community at large, including all those moms and dads who step up to the plate to coach or help out their children’s teams and organizations. Lately, I feel very fortunate that we have a new municipal gym. One reason I feel fortunate for the gym is that I see many people using the walking track that I don’t typically see walking anywhere at any other time. I bet they feel fortunate too! It is unfortunate that the warm viewing area windows worked out the way they did but after watching my grandchildren at public skating from there for about one minute, it quickly became apparent that I needed to take in all the sights and sounds that are part of being at the rink. Thinking about it later, I thought it must be the same when watching a hockey game from the viewing area – kind of like watching Hockey Night in Canada with the mute button on. We are certainly all fortunate and should be beholden to the people who brought this idea forward and for those who saw it through to fruition. Certainly makes me proud!

I feel
fortunate as we really seem to have a Kincardine municipal council that works
well together. It may seem unfortunate for the council members at times as they
can’t please all of the people all of the time, but I reckon they
should feel fortunate as they have it within themselves, as a council,
to continue to lead the community in an exciting and positive
direction.
Of late, I just feel fortunate that I can call Pat MacMasters my friend. Brad
