The Kincardine District Secondary School Knights boys hockey team will open the post-season on home-ice.

The Knights and Hanover’s John Diefenbaker Secondary School played to a 2-2 draw Wednesday afternoon in Kincardine, and the single point clinched first place for KDSS in the Bluewater Athletic Association South Division.

The Knights finished with a 5-1-2 regular-season record.

Grade 9 player Garrett McFadden scored both Kincardine goals. His first from Carter Strachan made it 1-1 in the second period, and his second tied the game with just 3:19 remaining in regulation.

Mike Osadca and Gerrit Satosek assisted on the second goal, a powerplay tally.

The Knights will host the Walkerton District Secondary School Raiders for a quarter-final contest after the exam break. JDSS and Walkerton's Sacred Heart will play in the other South Division match-up.
