KDSS Knights boys hockey team crushes Sacred Heart Crusaders

The Kincardine District Secondary School Knights skated to a 5-2 win at home today (Wednesday) in Bluewater Athletic Association (BAA) boys hockey action.

The win over the rival Sacred Heart Crusaders puts Kincardine back in first place in the BAA South at 5-1-1. Sacred Heart, meanwhile, slips to 4-2-1 on the year. 

Mitch Dickson and Jacob Siekierski each had a pair of goals for the Knights, who jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead. Garrett McFadden had the other Kincardine tally. 

Kyle Goetz and Jake Bross scored for the visitors, who made it 3-2 with five minutes to play - only to have Kincardine reply with two goals in the next minute. 

Easton Battler got the win in goal with 22 stops, while Chris Flett made 29 saves for Sacred Heart. 

KDSS will wrap up the regular season next Wednesday at home against the John Diefenbaker Secondary School Trojans.
