Weather is playing havoc with the Grand Prix de Kincardine snowmobile races. The first event of the year was slated for Jan. 7-8 at Family Funland, just south of Kincardine. However, that was cancelled due to a lack of snow. The next race was set for Tiverton this weekend, but it is being postponed to Feb. 25-26, again because of a lack of snow. "With very little snow on the ground, and above-freezing temperatures with rain in the forecast this week, we are not able to carry on with our plans for racing this coming weekend," said organizer Rob Noakes of Inverhuron. "Our next regularly-scheduled race is Feb. 4-5 at Family Funland so let's hope for better winter weather coming our way. At this point, it is not looking good for this date either, but hopefully that will change." The Grand Prix de Kincardine races are held in support of autism and epilepsy awareness.
