Trillium Court hosts Beach Party Bingo By Liz Dadson |

It may have been cold and snowy outside Friday afternoon, but inside the atrium at Trillium Court Seniors' Community, Kincardine, it was a tropical paradise. Residents, friends, family, staff and members of the community enjoyed the Beach Party Bingo event, complete with fruity drinks, Hawaiian necklaces, and plenty of bingo competition. Also on hand were Theresa Winchester of Expedia Cruiseship Centres, and Cathy Lemon and Sherry Reavie of Robert Q Travel, both of Kincardine. Trillium Court lifestyle consultant Heike Boettcher said bringing the travel experts in for this event is a great idea, encouraging seniors to look at opportunities to travel even as they get older. "Everyone wants to escape the winter," said Boettcher, "and there are many travel companies that cater to this market." She said Expedia was concentrating on cruises, while Robert Q was focusing on bus tours. Trillium Court is planning to host a Cruise Night Feb. 2, with Expedia on hand to provide more details about taking a cruise. Robert Q Travel will be invited back a separate day to offer details about bus tours.
