The YMCA Housing Support Program has received new funding to support local landlords in stabilizing long-term tenancies and preventing evictions in Grey-Bruce.

Landlord Links is a project administered through the YMCA and funded by the Government of Canada’s Homelessness Partnering Strategy Rural & Remote Communities Initiative. Local landlords and property managers are invited to dinner and an information session. The intent of this forum is to bring landlords together to discuss the issues affecting both landlords and tenants that create barriers to long-term successful housing.

Landlords will have the chance to connect with other local landlords and community service providers to address issues impacting the Grey – Bruce rental market.  Presentations will include:

  • Landlord Rights

  • Accounting for Landlords – Tax Breaks, Financial Incentives

  • Environmental Health Factors – Bed Bugs, Mold

  • Community Support Programs

  • Eviction Diversion Project

The events are taking place in Owen Sound on Tuesday, February 7th at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, and in Walkerton on Wednesday, February 29th at St. Paul’s United Church.  Both events will run from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m

To register for this event landlords can call the YMCA Housing Support Program, 519-371-9230.
