The Kincardine Agricultural Society has begun planning the annual Fall Fair to be held Aug. 31 to Sept. 1, 2012. The Annual General Meeting was held Saturday, Jan. 21, following a bountiful potluck lunch. The executive remains as last year, with Keith Hodgins as president and Eian Farrell as first vice-president. Volunteers and overseers are needed for a few classes - Beef, 4-H Beef Invitational, Junior Hobbies and Crafts, and Photography. If you are interested, contact: twinviewfarms@hurontel.on.ca or whiter1@bmts.com A beautiful quilt will be raffled at the fair again this year, with tickets available for purchase throughout the summer. The Agricultural Service Diploma for 2011 was presented to Eric Stewart, for his many volunteer hours over the past years. Bessie Farrell made the presentation, and Eric thanked the society for this recognition. Two members will attend the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Convention, to network with volunteers from other societies and take part in seminars on pertinent topics. They will report at the March regular meeting. The Kincardine Agricultural Society meets on the second Monday of each month, at the Municipal Administration Centre, at 8p.m. The next meeting is Feb. 13. Everyone is welcome.
