The Grand Prix de Kincardine snowmobile race has been postponed once again, due to a lack of snow. The race, slated for Feb. 4-5 at Family Funland, south of Kincardine, has been re-scheduled to sometime in March, possibly the first weekend. Organizer Rob Noakes is finding it frustrating that the winter weather won't co-operate. "Here we are yet again with less than an inch of snow on the ground and no real significant snow in the forecast for the next couple of weeks," he says. "I am working on a new date to hold the race at Family Funland, and will announce it when we have been able to establish one for sure." Originally, the Family Funland race was scheduled for Jan. 7-8, but there was no snow. Then, a race in Tiverton last weekend had to be postponed due to a lack of snow. The next race in the schedule is Feb. 18-19 in Listowel, as part of the annual COSDRA Listowel Snow Belt Challenge, said Noakes, followed by the Grand Prix de Kincardine race in Tiverton Feb. 25-26. "I want to thank everyone - the racers and the spectators - for their patience," Noakes said. "Know that we are doing what we can with what we have to work with."
