Just when you think you've figured out about all that Google is doing, you get fooled again.

We all know they are in a number of distinct and interwoven business segments.  Just to name a few:

  • The pervasive Google Search Engine

  • Gmail

  • Google Earth

  • YouTube

  • Google Chrome Browser

  • Cloud Computing with Office/Tools

  • Android Operating system supplier to tablets and phones

Well, did you know about SketchUp

Sketchup is designed to allow people to do quick designs with free software that can migrate them up to SketchUp Pro that costs about $95.  What gives?

Although I don't know the exact origins, it must have had something to do with Google Earth whereby you can fly-by big cities and get a kind of gross view of the buildings and streets.  Somebody needs to do the rough models in 'Tinker-Toy" fashion.

There are literally hundreds of training videos for the free version and the Pro Version.  You can look at the videos and download the free version and play with it.   You can design your new deck or shed with it. The first video will give you an idea of how it works.  I've embedded it below
