Overnight house fire claims life of Kincardine woman |

(KINCARDINE, ON) – A Kincardine woman is dead, following an overnight house fire on Fraser Drive in Kincardine. Feb. 8, at 12:20 a.m., the South Bruce OPP was called to the scene where officers found the home engulfed in flames. Members of the Kincardine Fire Department located and removed the homeowner who was transported to the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine. The homeowner, Ila Wellman, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The South Bruce OPP is investigating the cause of the fire, with the assistance of the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit and investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office. Anyone who may have witnessed the fire is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers. The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.
