Saugeen Shores Junior Firefighters unveiled their new authentic firefighter Nomex coats

Saugeen Shores Junior Firefighters Program continues to grow.   More than 40 juniors are taking part in the Wednesday night courses that teach young students not only what is involved in firefighting but also about home safety.

Juniors get a lesson on hoses ...

... and how each piece of uniform plays a key role

The Nomex jackets are exactly the same as the adult firefighters. The junior jackets have been donated by a wide variety of businesses and organizations.

"We are amazed at the response," says Saugeen Shores Fire Chief, Phil Eagleson, "and we have three other fire stations that interested in starting the program."

There is currently a waiting list to get into the program.
