Kincardine woman dies
in hospital from injuries
sustained in two-vehicle crash

Huron County OPP have reported that a Kincardine woman, seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash north of Goderich, has died in hospital.

The accident happened on Highway 21 (Bluewater Veterans Highway) between Golf Course Road and Bogie's Beach Road Sunday afternoon (April 22). Huron County OPP were assisted at the scene by Huron County paramedics and the Goderich Fire Department.

Police said a burgundy Chevrolet Blazer was travelling southbound on the highway when it collided with a silver Mazda 3 which was travelling northbound. Both drivers were taken by air ambulance to Victoria Hospital in London with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Blazer, Wendy Gilders, 69, of Point Clark, died in hospital, police said. A post-mortem examination will be completed.

The driver of the Mazda, Patricia Holland, 39, of Kincardine, has since died in hospital, police said.

Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation team continue to investigate the crash.
