The Mowbray family owned-and-operated Canadian Tire store in Port Elgin officially opened on Thursday, May 10 (2012) with a 'grand opening'.

The four-day weekend celebration that kicked off on Thursday morning, is being highlighted with a wide variety of special events and sales.

"We have planned for this day for several years," says owner Mike Mowbray. "It has always been my dream to own a store rather than manage a corporate one.  Our entire family is involved in this venture and without their support this never would have happened."

According to Zach Mowbray, the store has been  "... packed since the doors opened.  It has been beyond our expectations and we are very happy to see the support from the community.|
