The 15th annual Bulldogs Beach Volleyball tournament was a blow-out success on the weekend.

With the sand going in early this year, the local schools enjoyed six days of showcasing their talents. Here, everyone was a winner.

Wednesday night, the Kincardine Recreational League participants were organized into eight teams for a round-robin tournament, with John Phillips' team defeating Rita Holtby’s in the championship final

Thursday night, for the Bragging Rights Business Division, there is a new winner, with Birds, Bugs and Mike outlasting Canadian Tire. For Men’s Rec. Hockey, The Crows were crowned the new winners, beating last year’s winner, The Tiverton Bears.

For the weekend part of the tournament, don’t expect the team names to supply any hint as to where they’re from. In the ever-exciting Threes Division, the Autobots beat Slip The Tip.

The rest of the results are from Co-ed Sixes.

In the Competitive Division, Spin defeated Variety Pack. In the Consolation game, Supersquirrel over Nice Tips. In the Wanna Bs side, the Silly Nannies were declared winners.

In the Rec. A Division, Get It Up bested Sandeaters in the championship game. On the Consolation side, BCD over Set It or Forget It.

In the Rec. B Division, I’d Hit That defeated Sandy’s Aces. In the Consolation side, Orange Crush over We Always Get It up.

After midnight, the winners were finally decided for the Rec. C Division. Bieber My Balls defeated The Set-Uations. The Consolation Champs were Orville Redenblockers over Ball Busters.

With enhanced security, a well-behaved crowd (and the pull of a Supermoon), the Bulldogs Tournament was an immense success. There were more than 100 teams at the event, with players hailing from Kincardine, Wingham, Kitchener, Bolton, and as far away as Kentucky.

Looking forward to a repeat performance next year.
