Eight local gymnasts from Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) Royals in Port Elgin recently competed at the 2012 Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association (OFSAA) Gymnasitc competitions held in Barrie, Ontario. More than 400 of the top high school gymnasts from across Ontario competed in the two-day event. Local Saugeen Shores gymnasts competed at each level from level one to six, coached by Patti Bowman. Megan Stansfield received a 5th place ribbon on the uneven bars in level 3 and Maddy Masterson received a silver medal on the balance beam and a gold medal on uneven bars in level 2. SDSS also received the team silver medal in level 2.
