Municipal remuneration
up by almost $5,000 in 2013

Kincardine taxpayers paid almost $307,000 in remuneration to their council, local boards and the Bruce Telecom board in 2013. That's up about $5,000 from 2012.

The amount paid to council was about the same as 2012, at $230,320.22, while the amount paid to the Bruce Telecom board went up a couple of thousand dollars, to $60,312.38, as did the $16,084.72 paid to the local boards.

The treasurer's statement of remuneration is to be presented to Kincardine council as part of the consent agenda at the March 5 meeting.

Mayor Larry Kraemer was paid a total of $39,760.51, including $29,712.94 in salary, $3,170 in per diem, and $6,877.57 for expenses; and for serving on the Bruce Telecom board, $3,125.03 in per diem.

Deputy mayor Anne Eadie received a total of $32,802.78, including $21,535.06 in salary, $1,690 in per diem, and $9,577.72 for expenses.

Councillor Ron Coristine was paid a total of $22,892.11, including $17,446.19 in salary, $920 in per diem, and $4,525.92 for expenses; and for serving on the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, $600 in per diem and $180 for expenses.

Councillor Maureen Couture received a total of $23,530.79, including $17,446.19 in salary, $1,550 in per diem, and $4,534.60 for expenses.

Councillor Kenneth Craig was paid a total of $25,073.77, including $17,446.19 in salary, $450 in per diem, and $7,177.58 for expenses.

Councillor Jacqueline Faubert received a total of $18,030.98, including $17,446.19 in salary, $320 in per diem, and $264.79 for expenses; and for serving on the police services board, $1,737.48 in salary.

Councillor Candy Hewitt received a total of $22,959.36, including $17,446.19 in salary, and $5,513.17 for expenses.

Councillor Mike Leggett was paid a total of $26,399.16, including $17,446.19 in salary, $83.20 in per diem, $5,513.17 for expenses and for serving as a Kincardine volunteer firefighter, $3,439.80 in remuneration and expenses; for serving on the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, $150 in per diem and $90 for expenses.

Councillor Randy Roppel was paid a total of $18,870.76, including $17,446.19 in salary, and $1,424.57 for expenses.

The following were paid for serving on the Bruce Telecom board:

  • Doug Hunter - a total of $10,000.12, including $8,836.64 in salary, and $1,163.48 for expenses

  • Richard Martin - a total of $10,667.10, including $10,000.12 in salary, $375 in per diem, and $291.98 for expenses

  • Holly Robinson-Colley - a total of $13,158.42, including $12,000.04 in salary, $375 in per diem, and $783.38 for expenses

  • Barry Schmidt - a total of $12,694.61, including $10,000.12 in salary, $1,125 in per diem, and $1,569.49 for expenses

  • Tom Scott - a total of $10,66710, including $10,000.12 in salary, $375 in per diem, and $291.98 for expenses

  


For serving on the police services board:

  • Robert Hiscox - $1,737.48 in salary

  • Dorothy Stapleton - $1,737.48 in salary

For serving on the Westario Power board:

  • Randy Hughes - a total of $9,852.28, including $9,398.64 in salary, and $453.64 for expenses

For a grand total of $306,717.32.
