Mens’ Golf News

 

This week’s format for Mens’ Golf at Chippewa Golf and Country Club was the monthly Steak Night/Texas Scramble. One team must have had everything on full throttle as they easily won the event with a seven under par 28 on the front nine. Congratulations to the three-man team captained by Bruce Towner with Mike Tomora and Jason Martindale.

 

In second place with a four under par 31 was the team captained by Mike Pitzen with Mike Cleary, Cory Whitehead and Rick Collison.

Rounding out the prizes and in third place was the team captained by Steve Santin with Jason Nissen, Don Foell and Don White.

 

Rick Collison won the Closest to the Hole competition on the fifth hole and Peter Day sunk the Longest Putt on #2.

Senior Mens’ Golf News

 

Mike Pitzen had the low round of the day and won First Low Gross in the A-flight with a score of 84. Len Cowan won Second Low Gross with an 89. Bob Speight took First Low Net in the flight with a net 68, followed by Al Cruickshank, one stroke behind with a net 69.

 

In the B-flight, Jim Connelly won First Low Gross with a 98, followed by Zen Rybak with a 102. Bert Tripp won First Low Net with a net 67 and Watt Rodgers took Second Low Net with a net 73.

 

George Wilson won Closest to the Pin on #5 and Watt Rodgers won the same prize on #13. Mike Pitzen won the Low Hidden Hole competition with a 4 on the 16th hole, and Peter Welford, who must have had a tough time on the tenth hole, found some solace when he won the High Hidden Hole for his efforts on #10.
