The now engaged couple Rob Dellanno and Teresa Lio pause along the path with the sun streaming down them.

A few years ago the Marine Heritage Society at the request of Bruce County Tourism built a 15 foot tall lighthouse kiosk for Vaughn Mill Mall to promote tourism in Bruce County.

Around the Kiosk's base there are pictures of the Lighthouses of the Bruce and tour information for the popular attractions.  Teresa Lio told Rob Dellanno that she'd love to climb a lighthouse sometime.

Rob came up with a plan and contacted Vicky Tomori at the Chantry Island Tour Base.  Could he charter the entire boat Peerless for a surprise engagement at the top of the majestic Imperial Tower?  All was set for Saturday June 23 and all the volunteers were alerted to keep the secret.

The couple took the entire tour with climbing the light left for last.  The tour guides and captain made themselves scarce and the young girl said yes indeed to Rob's request.  The boat horn was the first to announce their engagement.  Teresa's diamond glowed like fire as they came out into the sunshine of the start of their new life.
