Following the Saugeen Ratepayers Association's (SRA) annual meeting on July 14, I fail to see how they can be serious about supporting the Save our Saugeen Shores (SOS) organization One minute the chairman of the SRA, Ken Robertson, was indicating that SRA was for the power workers and the industry and the next he was patting SOS on the back for their efforts in trying to stop the Town Council from getting more information on the storage of nuclear waste. The negative and destructive actions of these groups such as the large billboard and lawn signs will have a huge impact on visitors to Southampton. These signs are implying to visitors that the repository is to be in Southampton proper. The instigation of these scare tactics could eventually cause economic catastrophe to businesses in Southampton, like the e-coli problem caused in Walkerton. Some businesses there are only now recovering. Archie Gillies Southampton
