Township construction figures remain strong

Construction in Huron-Kinloss Township remains brisk as chief building official Matt Farrell presented his report at the general committee meeting last night (Aug. 8).

July saw 20 permits issued, with a total construction value of $2.279-million. That compares to 19 in June with a value of $1.898-million, and 26 in May with a value of $1.531-million.

In July, three permits were issued for new residences and one for a residential group home, with a total construction value of $2-million. In June, seven permits were issued for new home, with a value of $1.746-million.

So far this year, there have been permits issued for 22 new homes. In July, there was also one permit issued for a new farm building or addition, with a value of $109,000.

To date, 118 permits have been issued with a construction value of $9.226-million.

Last year, to date, there were 90 permits issued, with a value of $7.354-million.
