30 Years of Chantry Island Chambettes' Craft Fair

Christmas Garage Sale Coming

It's been 30 years since Saugeen Shores' Chambettes organized their first annual Craft Fair. (see related article)

This year's 30th Anniversary Fair held at The Plex with more than 30 vendors, raised approximately $2,200. The event featured several door prizes and many local winners in addition to a very successful food both. Plans have already begun for next year's Craft Fair to include even more vendors.

The Chambettes, an organization of professional women, have raised thousands of dollars over the years which have been disbursed throughout the community to various programs, such as the G.C. Huston Community Band, Hospital Foundation and many others.

Another of the organization's anticipated events is the annual Christmas Garage Sale which wil be held on November 22nd at the Boathouse in Southampton. The group will be accepting donations for the sale on Wednesday, November 19th and Friday, November 21st from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Boathouse.

This unique event is one of the most unusual garage sales in that all items are purchased by donation and the only 'priced' items are the baked goods. Another unusual aspect is that the sale is for Christmas decorations only, so for those wanting to re-theme their Christmas decor, it is the ideal venue to donate the 'old' and buy gently-used 'new'.
