Paying more for summer fun

Visitors, summer residents and some permanent residents will have to pay more for their summer leisure.

The local Saugeen Shores Tourist Camps (Port Elgin and Southampton) will see fees rise from the 2009 annual level of $1,882 to $1,922 (+ taxes) in 2010.

In addition, those visitors who come by boat, or residents who have leisure craft in the Port Elgin Harbour, will see their 2009 fees go from $44.50/ft.  to $46.00/ft. (plus taxes).

Town Council approved  the increases at Monday's meeting so that invoices can be sent to permit holders before March 1st to ensure that payment can be made before the May 1st deadline.
