Within 13 months, G. C. Huston Public School in Southampton, Saugeen Shores, has had four principals.

The multi-cultural school, that has incorporated First Nations' learning and is working toward developing an environmental program that will also give it an eco-school designation, has had its 'ups and downs'.

The current [last] Principal, Tom Karrow, appeared to be "making a difference", according to some of the parents whose children are students in the school. Parents thought that Karrow had been absent during the past two weeks due to 'school board meetings' but learned today, February 1st, through a newsletter sent home with students, that the length of his absence is, in fact, undetermined and for reasons unknown. 

Acting Principal, Susan Sankey, also confirmed that she did not know how long she would be at the school.  An experienced retired principal, Sankey last worked at North Port Elementary School in Port Elgin, Saugeen Shores.
