The tireless Saugeen Shores Cham-bettes held yet another successful fundraiser

One of Saugeen Shores most proficient fundraising organizations, the Cham-bettes, held another successful event with more than 100 people turning out for the Valentine's Day gala.

The Valentine's Day dinner and dance held at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre in Port Elgin on Saturday night was in held in support of the Southampton Memorial Hospital.

The Cham-bettes, whose members are made up of professional women in the community, are active fundraisers for a variety of causes.

"Our hospital is of paramount concern to the community," says Cham-bettes' President, Cherie Duhaime, "and the Cham-bettes are doing everything we can to support it."

The Valentine's Day event was among many fundraisers that the group holds throughout the year.

"It is always amazing to me," adds Duhaime, "how the community rallies to support the things that matter. They are always there when it comes to fundraising."\

Although the final count is not yet official, Duhaime said that the silent auction alone raised $1,000.
