Tiverton Winterfest is this weekend and there are loads of activities for everyone. Check out the flyers around town for the times and places.

Kenny Brown and I would like to thank all those involved in planning our surprise party last weekend. Kenny will be 50 this month and yes, I will finally, after all these years, get to be on the Forty List with my much, much older sister, Christi Broderick, and Kelly Brown. We had a ton of people come out and we collected $550 in the donation box which we will be giving to breast cancer research in honour of Megan Freiburger and Barb MacKenzie. We have wonderful spouses, and great families and friends who made these birthdays a great experience.

Speaking of birthdays, my little brother, Bruce Campbell, is celebrating this month, and Diane Small of Kincardine will be blowing out some birthday candles as well. Rumour has it that Paul Bushell has hit the 50-list too!

A soup luncheon will be held Monday, Feb. 15, at noon, served by the Men's Group at Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, in the activity room. Come out and enjoy some homemade soup. A goodwill offering will be collected.

Agricultural Society
The Tiverton Agricultural Society held its annual meeting Jan. 26 at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, with 17 members present. At this time, we send thanks to our out-going 2009 executive and directors for a job well done.

Last year was a very productive one as we held monthly euchres, a Winterfest Jamboree, and co-hosted the district meeting with representatives from 21 societies. Last summer, in conjunction with the Old Boys and Girls Reunion, we put on a Bruce County Beef BBQ, and right after the fair, we co-ordinated the tiling of our fairgrounds and the perimeter of the riding ring. We also had a float built so we can now participate in local parades.

We thank all the volunteers we called on during the year who helped in so many ways. Without you, we would not be able to carry out the fund-raisers in which we participate. Thank you.

The annual elections were held, chaired by Dennis Munro. We welcome our 2010 directors: Jamie Convay, Bonnie Plater, Doreen Soloduka, Brenda Ridley, Karen McMann, Glen Taylor, Bob Summers, Debbie Marcinowski, Tom Evans, Mary Young, Marlene Campbell, and Brian Todd. From those, the following were named to the executive: president Doreen Soloduka, first vice-president Jamie Convay, and second vice-president Glen Taylor. We wish the new executive and directors all the best in 2010.
