It was snowy and cold for the annual Tiverton Winterfest event on the weekend. About 20 people took part in the road hockey tournament Friday night, with two teams of younger players (up to high school age), and two teams of older players (high school age and up), facing off beside the Tiverton Sports Complex. A family dance was held Friday evening at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre. Saturday morning, the Goodtimers hockey team served a hearty breakfast to a large crowd at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre. The afternoon saw a snow sculpture contest and other family activities,with hot dogs and drinks provided by the Tiverton Lions Club. Children and adults also enjoyed tobogganing on the hill at the end of Memorial Park Drive A euchre party was held at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, and a skating party was held Saturday evening at the Tiverton Sports Complex. A special worship service was held Sunday at Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, followed by lunch at the church. Al Weatherall and the Country Troubadors then hosted a jamboree Sunday afternoon at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, with entertainment and dinner, organized by the Tiverton Agricultural Society.
